Hey Product Hunt 👋
Every weather app shows me the same thing: a wall of numbers. 18°, 62% humidity, 1013 hPa. Cool — but should I bring a jacket? Take an umbrella? Is now a good time for a run?
So I built Outside — a weather app that answers the question instead of dumping data.
You open it, it finds your city, and you get one sentence: "Chilly, grab a layer, rain in about 40 min — take an umbrella." Below that, a row of quick calls — umbrella, jacket, bike, run, walk, sunscreen — each with a ✓ / ⚠ / ✕ and a tap-for-why.
A few things I care about:
One sentence first. The forecast is a decision, not a spreadsheet.
Honest about uncertainty. It compares three forecast models and only warns you when they actually disagree.
Dry-window finder — "dry until 17:40", so you can time that walk.
Fast & quiet. No sign-up, no popups, no ads. Renders at the edge so it loads instantly, installs as an app (PWA), works offline with your last forecast.
8 languages, °C/°F, favourites, and a live "around the world" strip.
Actually nice to look at — full-screen, ambient backgrounds that shift with the weather and time of day.
Weather data is from Open-Meteo. It's a personal project I've been polishing obsessively — I'd love your feedback on the decisions layer and the design.
