OutRip is a pay-to-rank board where the rank is a pull, not a bid. Put your product in the set, open a $5 booster, and your single highest-rated card is your place on the public board — not what you spent, and not how many you hold. Rating is one over the square root of how likely the card was, computed from six published trait frequency tables, so it is continuous: there is no top card and first place is always beatable. Every pack returns at least what you paid in card value.
Maker here. Pay-to-rank boards have one shape: the number is the bid, so first place belongs to whoever spends most, and everybody below the top is watching a wall they cannot climb. OutRip keeps the paying and throws out the bidding. You buy a pack, five cards come out, and your single best card's rating is your rank. Rating is 1/√p — one over the root of how likely that card was — off six trait frequency tables published on the site, which makes it continuous. There is no top card and no ceiling, so first place is always beatable by a good enough pull, and rank 10 is roughly ten times cheaper to take than rank 1 because the empirical to-beat is about one pull in 5/r. Two things I decided up front and put on the site rather than in a FAQ: every pack returns at least what you paid in card value, so there is no losing outcome, only how far above the floor you land; and the crown species is pull-only — never on the pity ladder, never in the dust shop — so money buys you into contention and never buys first place. The trade-in shop is deliberately a bad deal, and the exact size of the bad deal, 4.29x on the round trip, is printed on its own page. Happy to answer anything about the math.

Who hunted OutRip?
OutRip was hunted by Isaiah Kim. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
