I'm Sam - solo builder on this one. A few months back I saw outbid.lol, a leaderboard where anyone can pay to rank #1, and couldn't stop thinking about it. Told myself I'd clone it with a twist in a one day. Took three days instead, mostly because of everything around the core idea - payments, security, and actually getting a processor to approve a site where strangers pay each other for rank.
The twist: there's a second leaderboard, ranked by who brings in the most real visitors instead of who pays the most. Every 15 days, the top 3 inviters there get paid in cash - the same amount the top 3 bidders paid to hold their spots, capped at $10k each. Bot traffic gets filtered, repeat visits don't count twice, and the leading inviters get checked by hand before any payout goes out.
Built entirely solo. First thing I've shipped like this, and more nervous and more excited than I expected to have it out in the open today.
Would love feedback, especially from anyone who's tried to get a payment processor to approve something unconventional - curious how your experience compared to mine.
