Hey Product Hunt, Ivan here 👋
I built OtherATC because plane spotting is an amazing hobby, but most tools around it still feel like databases, maps, or old-school spotting guides.
I wanted to make spotting feel more like a collection game:
✈️ Start curated aircraft collections
📸 Track what you’ve spotted
🛫 Use airport intelligence to find interesting aircraft, routes, and rare catches
🌍 Discover airports through real spotting opportunities, not just generic flight boards
We’re starting with focused airport and aircraft collections, and the goal is to make OtherATC a modern home for plane spotters — from beginners planning their first airport visit to experienced photographers chasing rare aircraft.
I’d love your feedback on:
1. Does the collection-first idea make the hobby easier to understand?
2. What aircraft or airport collections would you want to see next?
3. If you’re into aviation or photography, what would make this genuinely useful for you?
Thanks for checking it out 🙌
One thing that would make this way more useful for me is a heads-up feature that pushes a notification when a rare bird is scheduled into a nearby airport, since timing is everything when chasing specific tails.
Congrats on the launch! Honestly didn't know plane spotting was a thing until today — and now I'm seriously thinking about it, so I might become your user sooner than expected 😄 The site looks really cool, love the design. Question: what's the coolest plane you've personally caught for your collection so far? Good luck today!
Would love a built-in alert that notifies me when a specific tail number I am tracking is scheduled into a nearby airport. Right now I have to check manually, and I keep missing catches because flight times shift last minute.
The runway list view is really well thought out, especially how it groups catches by airline tail colors so you can scan for patterns at a glance. Whoever designed that clearly spent time around actual spotters.

OtherATC was hunted by Ivan Liashenko. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
