Welcome to the Launch of Oscalate! Hello Product Hunt! 🎉 I'm Charles, the creator of Oscalate, a real-time polyphonic synthesizer for Android. My goal was to build a visual app that allowed me to create music whenever and wherever inspiration struck. I wanted to explore musical soundscapes and create new sounds without relying on samples. After several years of development (while sharing the joys of my children's childhood) I want to share the tool that I still use almost daily. Inspired a bit by music trackers of long ago, and accessible to musicians of any level Oscalate gives me the freedom to create almost anywhere and I hope you find it useful too. Here's what makes Oscalate special: - Create and Layer Sounds: Use modular real-time oscillators to craft unique layered multi-timbral instruments (with more sound generation methods coming soon). - Straightforward Sequencing: Compose patterns, blocks, and full songs with an easy-to-use 16-step grid sequencer. - Extensive Sound Library: Includes over 300 instruments, with more instrument packs on the way. - Export & Share: Render your creations to WAV files to share with the world. - MIDI Support: Play with an external MIDI controller for more dynamic performance and control. It's available on Android! Versions and Upgrades (available as in-app purchases): Discovery (Free Version): Up to 6 instruments and 32 blocks in the sequencer, reduced sample rate for WAV files, MIDI support, view-only synthesizer settings. Compose (Paid Version): Unlocks expanded features, up to 16 instruments and 128 blocks in the sequencer, view-only synthesizer settings. Design (Coming Soon) - Paid Version: Will offer unlimited instruments and blocks in the sequencer (up to the limits of your hardware/phone), export instruments and songs to XML, share songs and instruments, full synthesizer access, and free instrument packs. I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Feel free to ask any questions or share how you envision using Oscalate in your musical repertoire. Your feedback is invaluable as I continue to improve and expand the app. Thank you for checking out Oscalate! 🚀 Questions for Engagement What features are you most excited about? Any specific instruments or packs you’d like to see in the future? How does the app perform on your device? Is it responsive and smooth? Looking forward to your feedback and suggestions!

Congrats on the launch, Charles! Oscalate sounds awesome for music creation on the go. I'm curious, how does the app handle latency when using MIDI devices? That can be crucial for real-time performance. Also, any plans for future updates to enhance the sound library?
Congrats on the launch, @charles_romaniuk! 🎉 I'm really digging the idea of a modular synth for Android—super convenient! Sounds like an exciting launch, Charles! 🎉 The concept of a real-time polyphonic synthesizer on Android is quite appealing. I’m particularly intrigued by the modular oscillators for creating layered sounds. Given that you aim to allow musicians of all levels to create, how user-friendly is the 16-step sequencer for complete beginners? Also, will you be implementing any collaborative features in future updates, or focusing mainly on individual creation? Looking forward to trying it out!

Amazing product. Congratulations to your launch, Charles! just gave it a good upvote
Charles, the app looks promising but I worry it might be too ambitious for the average user, with so many features packed in can it still be user-friendly without overwhelming us with options, also curious how it handles on older Android devices and if it’s really smooth as claimed?
Seems like another attempt to cram every feature imaginable into one app, but honestly, do we really need yet another sequencer out there, might wanna rethink the approach before pushing it to the masses
Congrats on the launch of Oscalate, Charles! 🎉 The combination of modular oscillators and a 16-step sequencer sounds like a dream for music creators. I love that you focused on making it accessible for all levels; it really captures the spirit of music-making without the fuss. Excited to explore those 300+ instruments!
