Organizer is a local-first app for keeping chronological logs of anything you want to track — client follow-ups, a project's progress, a personal journal, research notes, or a record of events as they happen. Instead of files and folders, you work with timelines. A timeline is a named log you add to over time. Each thing you add is an entry: a timestamped, rich-text note that can carry attachments, a due date, and a done/not-done state.
My own head was full. At any given moment I've got a
dozen "oh, I need to follow up with that client / remember that
thing / chase that invoice" loops running in the background, and
none of the apps I tried were a place I actually trusted enough to
put them down.
Notes apps make you pick a structure up front — folders, nesting,
all that. But the most useful structure for the stuff I track is
just time: what happened, in what order, when. So Organizer is
built around timelines instead of folders. A timeline is a named
log you add to over time; every entry is timestamped, can carry
attachments, a due date, a done/not-done state. You shove a thing
in, give it a day, and on that day it tells you about it. That's
the whole job.
Also if you use a certain big tech's task list feature, it really sucks. I stopped using that and use this.
And it feels very cool to use syncthing and keep all the data private away from the big training dataset / panopticon in the sky while still having the convenience of cloud app. I think there are a lot of apps that could follow this form, and many people can build them with AI now it is cheap to build. We could have a lot of personal apps being local like it's 1995.
Vibe coded? Yes - 99.8%.
P.S. - Oh and that Github home page link? Product Hunt doesn't know about CodeBerg apparently, so had to add that in to keep it happy.
