Hi everyone.... I'm John, a solo dev who builds small apps in the evenings. I started Ordo because I wanted to build a game my 6 year old daughter could play while also hoping to keep it fun for adults as well. The core philosophy of this build was that the game had to be easy enough to explain in one sentence. It had to be calm...no hard loss states, no punishing mechanics or frustrating RNG. And, most important, it had to fit into a few minutes a day, not hours. At its core, Ordo is a pattern-deduction puzzle. Read clues, Swap tiles and find work your way to the unique arrangement of tiles that solves the grid. It's simple to learn, and genuinely easy on smaller grids, but some of the larger grids (Thursdays to Saturdays) can be challenging enough to scratch that puzzle itch even for seasoned puzzlers. My daughter's been the best playtester I could ask for. She wakes up most mornings and asks to play Ordo as I am getting her breakfast. She's caught real bugs and difficulty spikes I would've missed on my own and her enjoyment has pushed me to finish it. It's free to play, both on iOS and in the browser. No ads, no accounts needed, just open it and play. The iOS app adds a daily streak tracker, plus a paid archive unlock if you ever want to catch up on a missed day. I also spent real time on accessibility with this build. Adding VoiceOver support and Reduce Motion as well as a Dark Mode and designing the game to be accessible to people with color blindness which isn't something that usually gets attention in a small side project like this, but I wanted to attempt it here. I would love to hear what you think, bugs and all. So try it out, and report back here. If you enjoy it (even a little bit), sending a friend your daily result with the share button is genuinely the best way a tiny project like this grows. Thanks for taking the time.

Comment highlights

the swapping mechanic feels so tactile and satisfying, especially how the clues layer in without ever over-explaining themselves
