I kept watching a friend of mine, Gavin, run his own freelance design and marketing work, and the amount of juggling it took just to keep client work, retainers, and billing straight. Nothing built for a team his size existed, everything out there was either a spreadsheet held together with hope, or enterprise software built for agencies ten times bigger, charging enterprise prices to match.
So I started building Orbit Studio. Gavin became my first real tester, and a lot of what's in the product today (the negotiate-on-estimates flow, the resource bank, honestly a good chunk of the AI companion's personality) came directly from him hitting a wall on something and telling me what actually needed to change.
