OpusClip 4.0 goes beyond AI clipping to edit raw footage into finished videos. Automatically clean up speech, add captions and B-roll, create multiple formats, apply saved editing styles, and generate animated hooks and motion graphics.
Creating video content is one thing. Editing it is where things often get stuck. You might have hours of footage sitting on your phone, but finding the time to cut it, clean up the audio, add captions, and prepare it for different platforms is another challenge.
OpusClip 4.0 takes on more of that editing process. Instead of only finding highlights in finished videos, you can now give it raw footage and let AI turn it into finished content.
What's new in 4.0:
Auto-edit: Upload raw footage or paste a video link. Turn on speech cleanup, captions, B-roll, and other editing options to get a finished video.
Multiple formats: Turn one edit into different versions, from 60–90 second highlight clips to 3–5 minute extended cuts and quick lo-fi updates.
Recipes: Save your editing setup as a reusable Recipe, or start with one of OpusClip's presets to keep future videos consistent.
Viral Hook: Apply hook styles from a template library to make the opening seconds more engaging.
Motion Graphics: Turn spoken content into animated icons, numbers, and charts on screen.
AI Producer: Edit footage through a plugin in ChatGPT or Claude. Share a reference style and ask the AI to match it.
OpusClip's existing AI clipping capabilities are still part of the product, but 4.0 expands the workflow to cover more of the editing process.
Who it's for: Content creators, founders, marketers, educators, and small teams that need to produce videos regularly without hiring a full editing team.
Congrats on 4.0! Auto-edit from raw footage is the part I care about most. We run a small job-search startup and turn data posts into 10-15s shorts for TikTok, Reels and YouTube every day, and the slow part is always captions and cutting, not the idea. Quick question: does auto-edit keep captions accurate for non-English speech, for example Armenian or Russian, or is it English-first for now?
I've been cutting launch videos with Claude this week, and what eats my time is pacing, not captions. The first cut looks fine frame by frame and feels slow when you actually watch it. When AI Producer matches a reference style, does it pick up how fast the reference cuts, or mostly the look? And does it hand back something I can still fix by hand, or a flat export?
Much needed one! Can't be a perfect timing. We are looking for the one to convert our user interviews into clips for distributing it to different channels.
