Thanks for hunting us, @rajiv_ayyangar! We’re so grateful for Product Hunt’s role in helping us find some of our very first customers back in 2018, so I’m super excited to be back in here with our API. For folks who are new to OpenPhone — @mahyarraissi and I set out to create a business phone system that you and your team actually love using. When we got started in 2018 there were lots of clunky solutions on the market that didn't meet the needs of modern teams. Today, we’ve handled over 1 billion calls and text messages for over 100,000 customers. OpenPhone is a lot more than just a phone system though: 🤝 Keep everyone aligned with shared phone numbers, which let teammates work together to seamlessly support customers. 🤖 Use AI to transcribe and summarize calls, provide next steps, and more. 📲 As your team grows, easily add new numbers and customize them to ensure callers get routed to the right place. 👥 Build stronger relationships with a mini CRM for your team’s contacts, complete with custom properties and notes. 🔌 And work more efficiently with automations, first-party integrations, and now custom integrations through our API. You can watch my colleague @rachel_boles who's the Product Manager behind this release give a quick demo of the API here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DaLk3jYvko If you'd like to get started, check out our docs - https://www.openphone.com/docs/a... This is just the start of OpenPhone as a platform for developers. We’d love to hear people’s feedback in the comments, or also feel free to email me directly: [email protected] Thank you!

You guys are great at adding new features but still have bugs that have not been resolved for 2 years. One of the main ones is "open conversations," which do not change their status and remain marked as a new message.

Congrats on OpenPhone’s launch, congratulations @darynakulya @mahyarraissi @rajiv_ayyangar @rachel_boles @george_williams 🎉 It’s awesome to see all the great feedback you’re getting. One cool tool I want to share, you can use Feedspace to import all your Product Hunt launch comments and create a ‘Wall of Love.’ It’s a perfect way to showcase how your users are loving OpenPhone, helping build trust with new customers right from the start! @darynakulya Was one of the users asking for API - stoked to see it released. Haven't read through current exposed abilities yet. But, former tech Product Mgr so sharing for your benefit: We are in the Property Management space. Issue is operating the business requires industry-specific software (Yardi, DoorLoop, Buildium, etc), but those tools try to build every feature themselves. And, they don't do it well. One of those features is communication with tenants, which is *overwhelmingly* done through text. It's also the *key* use case for delighting our customers. Our intention with the OpenPhone API is to properly support tenant communication through the industry software - in our case, DoorLoop. This means, for example: 1. Eliminating "no reply" text phone numbers. 2. Synchronizing contact lists -- OpenPhone needs to reflect, not own contact info 3. Pull in communication done through OpenPhone into PM software to provide cross-communication channel history of communication. 4. Making everything work correctly with Slack and channel naming conventions for activity fire-hosing. Was surprised to see the API release, so no immediate plans to begin working on this, but sharing so you're aware of where one user's head is at. :peace:

We're super excited to explore this api and discover totally new efficiencies. @mahyarraissi, @darynakulya and the whole team at OP are doing some great work! There's no way we'd be able to run our businesses as efficiently as we do if OpenPhone weren't around.

We've been using OpenPhone for years and an API was the only thing that was ever missing. Now that it's here, we're looking forward to making OpenPhone a permanent part of our tech stack. Onward!

I've been using OpenPhone for over 4 years now. While it’s not perfect, it's by far the best product out there. I've recommended it to many of my SMB clients and even customized a desk phone solution for one client who needed traditional phones for their employees. I’m confident OpenPhone will become the top B2C communication platform in the years to come !

congrats @darynakulya and team! Love that OpenPhone is finally, officially, truly OPEN! Congrats on the API launch - this is huge for everyone from fast-growth startups to tech-forward SMBs to mom & pop shops that *get it* when it comes to best-in-class tech to run their businesses.

Congratulations! Really looking forward to having more control and syncing/integrating with our CRM (HighLevel)

This is amazing! I've been hoping you'd do an API And then add AI into and boom. Cannot wait to use this API for so many ideas. Thank you!

Very cool @darynakulya / @mahyarraissi - Congrats on shipping this will take OpenPhone to the next level!

This is dope. Can’t wait to use this for my personalized notification wake up alarm service app :)

Our law office was completely transformed by OpenPhone a year ago. Now, we couldn't live without it. Top features we use: After-hours call routing, shared inboxes, call recordings & transcriptions... And now, the newly minted API lets us connect our entire NoCode stack to OpenPhone. Kudos for creating one of the best platforms on the planet, @darynakulya and @mahyarraissi. It's truly something special and I hope we keep growing with you, alongside all these amazing product updates. -Chris, CEO @ Hannon De Palma & Associates

Big launch and great video to show exactly what customers can now do within the product! Excited to integrate with our CRM and add more automations with OpenPhone. Congrats to the team on the launch!
