OLED Guard Pro reduces burn-in risk by tracking cumulative pixel exposure and selectively dimming static taskbars, app chrome and game HUDs. Its GPU-resident Windows engine works across multiple monitors and borderless-fullscreen games. v5 adds Game IQ, which learns recurring HUD regions locally, plus smoother continuous protection. No account or telemetry pipeline. One-time Pro purchase, with a free desktop edition available. Risk reduction, not a burn-in guarantee.
Hi Product Hunt, I’m Qasem, the developer of OLED Guard Pro.
I built it because the usual OLED advice, such as hiding everything, moving windows, or dimming the entire display, makes an expensive monitor less enjoyable to use. Static taskbars, browser chrome and game HUDs are real cumulative workloads, but the moving parts of the screen do not need the same intervention.
OLED Guard models luminance × time for each pixel on the GPU and applies a protective overlay only where exposure is accumulating. v5 introduces Game IQ, which learns persistent HUD regions per game locally and brings protection back to them faster in future sessions. It also adds a continuous presentation engine for smoother dimming and cleaner release when content starts moving again.
The app supports independent multi-monitor protection, borderless-fullscreen gaming, per-app profiles, a live heatmap and optional DDC/CI controls. Frames stay GPU-resident; there is no account or telemetry pipeline. Typical measured overhead is under 1%, though hardware and settings vary.
The honest limitation is that software cannot guarantee a burn-in-free panel or repair damage that already exists. OLED Guard is an additional risk reducer and should be used alongside the monitor’s built-in care routines.
There is a free Windows edition for desktop protection and a one-time-purchase Pro edition for gaming, fullscreen media, multi-monitor setups and manual control. I’d especially value feedback from people using OLED for long gaming sessions, coding or daily productivity.
