I built Ohata because every passport/visa photo tool I tried made me do the hard part myself. They're covered in ads, they upload your photo to their servers, and after all that you still have to look up the country's requirements and eyeball whether the head size is right.
So Ohata does the opposite:
It knows the spec so you don't have to. Pick your country and it auto-fits your head to the official requirement — exact dimensions, head-height range, background colour. All 126 country specs are verified against official government sources, each one linked and dated on its page.
Everything happens in your browser. No upload, no server, no account. Close the tab and your photo is gone. For an ID photo, that should just be the default.
A clean page with no ads. Upload, adjust, download — that's the whole flow. Export a single photo or a print-ready 4×6 sheet, free, no watermark.
The photo utilities (background removal, compress-to-exact-size, resize, convert, AI upscale) are useful tools that I use a lot myself, but they are usually gate kept. I just want to throw them in as free goodies, all browser-only too.

the in-browser privacy angle is genuinely smart, especially for something like passport photos where you really don't want your face hitting a server. love that it just works locally without any sketchy upload step.
looks great! tried it out and seems fast and very easy to use. saves a lot of trouble trying to do this manually myself or pay more to get a photo taken to spec. looking forward to using this in the future!
The browser-only setup is a nice touch, makes me feel better about uploading my face. Tested it with a quick passport photo and the head-fit was spot on, saved me a trip to the drugstore.
Finally tried this for my visa and was surprised how fast it lined up my head to spec without me measuring anything. Loved that nothing got uploaded, just did it all locally in the browser.
