I built Ocular because after spending long hours reading and working on my phone, my eyes were constantly strained, dry, and fatigued by the afternoon.
Everyone knows the 20-20-20 rule (look 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes), but standard reminder apps never worked for me—it's too easy to dismiss a notification and keep scrolling.
I wanted something similar to what desktop apps like EyeLeo or Stretchly do, but optimized for Android:
• A subtle, draggable floating badge that counts down your focus session without getting in your way.
• A dimming 20-second rest screen that actually holds you accountable to blink and relax your ciliary muscles.
• Smart Meeting Detection so it never pops up during important phone calls, video chats, or when Do Not Disturb is active.
