So, I built OctoHires. But let me back up a bit.
I kept seeing this pattern with my friends—heck, with myself too. We’d cram for weeks, feel ready, and then bam. The interviewer drops a curveball and my mind just... goes blank. It wasn't that I was dumb or didn't know the stuff. It was just nerves, you know? Or trying to explain something complex while sweating bullets.
So I had this half-baked idea: what if I had a quiet little wingman sitting on my desktop during the call? Something that actually listens to the convo and watches my screen, but instead of giving me generic textbook answers, it gives me *personalized* nudges based on what I already know.
Building this thing was painful though, not gonna lie. Getting the voice recognition to not pick up my dog barking, making the AI see my screen without massive lag—it was a nightmare of trial and error. I spent way too many late nights wrestling with bugs and questioning my life choices. There was a lot of caffeine and even more rage-quitting.
But eventually, it started to feel... natural. Smooth. It works (most of the time, lol).
Anyway, this is just v1. I know it's not perfect. So whether you love it, hate it, or think I'm crazy—hit me with it. I genuinely want to hear your thoughts. Good, bad, ugly, I'm reading everything.
