Every board is a working QR code. Tap a light area and it fills in dark. That corrupts the data, but the code keeps scanning right up to the Reed-Solomon error correction limit. Your score is how many moves you make before it breaks. A solver finds the exact maximum for each puzzle, so a perfect game is a real target. Four difficulty levels change only what you see. A bigger code on Sundays. Free, no account, no cookies, no analytics scripts. Scan any board mid-game and it opens that puzzle.
Hi! I came up with this at my kitchen table, scribbling over a QR code in a newspaper ad and scanning it to see if it still worked. It led to the question: how much damage can one QR code take before it breaks?
There's an exact answer, and obsQRity turns it into a daily puzzle. Every board is a working QR code. A tap fills a whole light area, areas straddle bricks (bytes), so you're choosing which bricks to sacrifice. On Hard you can't even see them. A solver works out the true maximum, and real decoders confirm the code still reads at the limit.

Who hunted obsQRity?
obsQRity was hunted by Patrick Keane. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
