Hey Product Hunt! I’m David, the maker of Oars.
I got tired of SSH(ing) around multiple servers on my terminal, I needed a way to debug and fix critical broken deployments.
I built Oars to bring the everyday work of managing Linux servers into one local desktop workspace. Connect over SSH, then move between terminals, files, logs, monitoring, deployments, backups, and remote desktops without juggling separate tools.
And yes! you can use AI to chat and figure out what is wrong or what failed on your server, it runs tools as commands, connect any AI model.
A few things you can try:
- Organize servers into groups and arrange sessions in tabs or split panes.
- Browse local and remote files side by side, or search and follow server logs.
- Open a remote desktop through an SSH tunnel and switch to full screen.
- Bring your own AI provider, review the context you share, and approve proposed commands before they run.
Oars runs on macOS and Linux and is free under the MIT license. Connection credentials use your OS credential store; AI assistance is optional.
