I’m Jelani, the creator of NutriSnap.
What inspired this launch? Let's be honest: manual food tracking is tedious. Typing in raw weights, searching through inaccurate database search results, and scanning barcodes for every single ingredient is the #1 reason people quit their nutrition goals. I wanted to build a tool that felt frictionless and intuitive.
What problem does it solve? NutriSnap removes the chore from dieting. With a single photo, our hybrid AI engine (powered by Google Gemini) estimates the portion size and volumetric density of your food, cross-referencing it with the USDA FoodData Central database for precise macro and micro counts. No typing required.
How did the project evolve? What started as a simple visual calculator quickly grew into a full, gamified ecosystem. We realized that logging food is only half the battle—consistency is where people struggle. So, we added a level-up/XP system, unlockable themes, and a conversational AI coach to guide users and make healthy eating feel like a game.
