NueZip is a native macOS archive manager designed for speed, simplicity, and a beautiful Mac experience. Compress, extract, and manage ZIP, 7z, RAR and more with Finder integration, password protection, and a modern SwiftUI interface.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I'm the creator of NueZip.
I built NueZip because I felt archive tools on macOS haven't evolved much in years. I wanted something that feels like a true Mac app — fast, native, and integrated with Finder.
The interesting engineering challenge was combining:
- SwiftUI for the native macOS experience
- C for the archive processing engine
- macOS Finder extensions for seamless workflows
Building a polished native utility is surprisingly challenging, especially with sandboxing, permissions, and universal binaries.
I'd love to hear your feedback:
What is your biggest frustration with archive tools today?
Thanks for checking out NueZip!
honestly looks really clean, the Finder integration is a nice touch. one thing though, would be great if you could preview files inside an archive before extracting, like just clicking on a pdf or image and seeing it without having to unpack the whole thing first. would save a ton of time
