I’m Phoenix D. Akki, the creator of "NPC-Forge".
As a developer, I’ve always found traditional game NPC dialogue trees a bit robotic and static. If you want characters to react dynamically to player choices, have real memory, and show emotions, building that system from scratch can take months.
I built "NPC-Forge" to solve this. It’s a lightweight, open-source AI engine that gives game developers a way to build autonomous characters with sub-second response times.
⚔️ What makes NPC-Forge special:
* Lore Ingestion (RAG) : Drag and drop your game's world-building PDF or pull directly from Wikipedia. The NPC dynamically retrieves and references facts in real-time.
* Emotion Engine : The character's Trust, Anger, Respect, Curiosity, and Wariness adjust dynamically based on how the player treats them, altering their mood and dialog style.
* Tavern Mode : Select multiple NPCs and watch them converse autonomously with each other based on their relationships and backgrounds.
* Voice UI & API Support : Full voice I/O (Whisper + TTS) and a secure FastAPI wrapper for clean integration into Unity or Unreal Engine.
Best of all: it is designed to run entirely on free-tier APIs and open-source stacks.
