Hey everyone! 👋
We built Nouta mostly out of frustration with the state of today's gym apps. It felt like every time you wanted to use any other gym tracker, you would either end up hitting a paywall at any useful feature or when trying to create a certain number of templates, or you would be flooded by gimmicky features, AI, or a social feed-which is the last thing you want to be bothered with when working out.
Therefore, we decided to take matters into our own hands and create the app that we would actually use ourselves. Nouta is a gym workout tracker that features a clean and minimalistic design with an unlimited number of templates, progress graphs, and PR tracking, all of which is completely free.
However, something else that was really lacking in certain apps we were using was an efficient way to check on our gym bros without(!) having to doomscroll through an endless feed of posts like in other social media apps. Nouta allows you to connect with your friends, compete with their stats, track your progress as a team, and exchange your training plans with each other.
We have chosen a Pay-What-You-Want Supporter model for Nouta, which grants you access to cosmetic features like themes or an animated GIF avatar, so that the app itself stays free for the community. Using InstantDB as our data storage makes it very cost-effective on our end while also enabling users to use the app offline.
