Never miss Notion deadlines: Send alerts via Slack & Email
Stop paying expensive per-task fees on Zapier just to track Notion dates. NotionReminder is a dedicated micro-SaaS that turns your databases into an automated alert engine. Unlike generic tools, it runs continuously in the background to monitor date columns and dispatches alerts to Slack or Email. It features smart date monitoring, flexible channel routing, and a centralized Action Ledger to verify every sent notification.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m the creator of NotionReminder.
Like many of you, I rely on Notion for everything but I kept running into the same exact wall when it came to tracking time-sensitive information.
**The Breaking Point**
Notion is a brilliant operational hub, but it has a fundamental blind spot: it cannot trigger external alerts based on the passive passage of time. Because its native automations are strictly event-driven, a critical deadline can arrive on the calendar in complete silence unless someone actively edits the page.
To fix this, teams usually resort to duct-tape solutions: building complex Zapier flows that silently break if a column name changes, burning through unpredictable Notion AI credits just to check dates or relying entirely on human memory.
**The Philosophy**
I realized we didn’t need another bloated workflow tool. We needed a deterministic, single-purpose chronological alerts engine. Something that runs quietly in the background, handles schema changes elegantly and never drops the ball.
**Meet NotionReminder**
I built this tool to secure your mission-critical operational data. We poll your databases in the background and deliver flawless, beautifully formatted notifications to your team exactly when you need them.
**Who gets the most out of this?**
✅ **Freelancers & Solopreneurs** staying on top of client deliverables, content calendars and individual subscription renewals.
✅ **IT & Ops** tracking SSL certificates and domain renewals.
✅ **HR & People Ops** monitoring legally binding visas and employee contracts.
✅ **Founders & RevOps** keeping an eye on SaaS renewals to stop bleeding budget.
✅ **Agencies & Account Execs** needing automated invoice follow-ups.
**How the engine works:**
⏳ **Dynamic Time Thresholds:** Tell the engine to alert your team precisely 90, 60, or 30 days *before* a contract renews or an invoice is due.
💬 **Rich Multi-Channel Dispatch:** No more parsing ugly JSON. NotionReminder dynamically translates your database properties into beautifully formatted Slack Block Kit messages and HTML emails.
🛡️ **Idempotent Delivery:** Our immutable internal state ledger ensures an alert for a specific record and threshold is sent exactly once. End notification spam.
🧠 **Auto-Resetting:** If you manually update a date in Notion after an alert fires, the system detects the change and seamlessly resets the ledger for the new deadline.
I'm super excited to share this with the Product Hunt community today. You can try our Hobby Tier completely free and we only charge a predictable flat rate when your volume demands it.
I’ll be hanging out in the comments all day. I’d love to know: what kind of mission-critical dates are you currently tracking manually in your workspace?
Cheers! 🎉
