Top comment

Hi, I’m Alex. 🫶🏻 I started this project because many note-taking apps feel either too locked-in, too bloated, or too dependent on someone else’s cloud. I wanted something minimal, useful, and built around plain files that stay where you choose. Owning your data matters. Your notes are personal: ideas, plans, memories, work, drafts, thoughts. They should not be trapped inside a closed system or stored somewhere you don’t fully control. With this app, your files (.txt and .md) remain yours - readable, portable, and stored in the place you decide. - The app is free - Nothing gets tracked or sent to a server. Since this is still a new project, I’d really appreciate your feedback, ideas, and bug reports. 🙂

Who hunted Notelane?

Notelane was hunted by Alexander Kaiser. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
