Hey Product Hunt! I'm Rohan, the developer of NotchDock (https://notchdock.app).
I built NotchDock because Apple gave MacBook Pro models a hardware notch, but left it largely unused on macOS. Most existing menu bar tools are either packaged Electron apps (chewing 400MB+ RAM and 3-5% idle CPU) or simple icon hiders.
I wanted a native, distraction-free Dynamic Island utility built 100% in Swift 6 with AppKit:
- AppKit NSPanel with .nonactivatingPanel so it never steals keyboard focus.
- Floating Quick Notes scratchpad with 2-way Apple Notes sync via local AppleScript IPC (zero third-party cloud).
- Ambient meeting navigator with 1-click video call joiner (Zoom/Meet/Teams via local EventKit).
- Real-time sports scoreboard (NFL, Premier League, La Liga, NBA) with 5-second auto goal expansion alerts.
- Glanceable stock & crypto sparkline charts on hover.
- Idle CPU is <0.5% and RAM footprint is <45MB on Apple Silicon.
It is currently in free open beta distributed directly as a notarized DMG.
