notave
Write pro guitar & bass TAB in your browser. Or ask AI.
Pro-quality guitar & bass TAB + standard notation, right in your browser — no install. Type a chord, get smart Drop 2 / Drop 3 voicings. Or describe what you want and notave AI writes the whole sheet. Playback, print, MP4 export, share by link. Free to start.
I'm Masashi — a solo developer and jazz guitarist. I built notave to scratch my own itch.
Whenever I wanted to jot down a quick TAB or try a chord voicing, my only options were a heavyweight desktop app (overkill, not on every machine) or pen and paper. I just wanted something that opens in a browser, looks professional, and gets out of my way.
So notave does a few things I always wished for:
• Type a chord name → it suggests playable Drop 2 / Drop 3 / triad voicings and picks the smoothest voice leading across the bars. • Don't feel like entering notes by hand? Just describe it — "a slow jazz-blues comp in F" — and notave AI writes the whole TAB + chord sheet. The AI only decides musical intent (chords, pitches, form); notave resolves the correct, playable frets — so it never hands you a shape you can't actually play. • Guitar and bass, alternate tunings, capo, standard notation + TAB side by side. • Export an MP4 with a scrolling cursor (vertical for Shorts/Reels, chroma key to overlay on your playing video), print a clean lead sheet, or share by link — no account.
It's free to start — no install, no signup to try (note: AI features require a free account).
I'd genuinely love your feedback: if you play, generate a tune and tell me where it falls short. What would make this a daily tool for you?

Who hunted notave?
notave was hunted by Masashi Yamada. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
