You already pay for IPTV. Watching it on your Apple devices shouldn't cost extra. Native SwiftUI for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. A real TV guide — three days of history, one click to replay anything that aired. Downloads that keep going while the phone is locked and resume from the exact byte. It even picks your provider's fastest server. Watching is free — guide, replay, favourites, bouquets, iCloud sync. No account, no ads, no trial clock. No content included: bring your own playlist.
I have an IPTV subscription, like a lot of people across the World. What I could not find was a player worth using: the free ones were rough, the good ones wanted money before they would do anything, and most of the free ones really only worked properly on a computer. I live in the Apple ecosystem — iPhone, iPad, Apple TV — and I wanted the thing I set up once on the phone to simply be synced on all devices. So I built it.
North IPTV is native SwiftUI, one codebase, and the plan is that watching stays free. Permanently. Set up your playlist, get the guide, the replay, favourites, bouquets, parental controls, and iCloud sync across every device — no account, no ads, no logo, no trial timer. Because "watch your own subscription on your own devices" should not cost extra, every basic feature is free, forever.
What is paid: recording, offline downloads, unlimited playlists, and Movie Night mode. Power features a minority actually use — and I still have bills to pay (ha!). That is the whole trade.
Some of what it does that I could not find elsewhere:
🗓️ A real TV guide grid on Apple TV — channel column pinned, three days of history, and clicking anything that already aired plays its replay at once.
⬇️ A replay downloads as a file, roughly ten times faster than watching it, keeps going while the phone is locked, resumes from the exact byte it stopped at, and outlives your provider's few-days archive window.
🏎️ Providers hand out several server addresses and tell you to switch at peak hours. The app times them — one at a time, never while you are watching, because these panels cap connections — and moves to the fastest.
Every feature since 1.0 came from somebody asking for it, and there is a Feature Requests screen in the app for exactly that. I want this to become the standard way Apple users watch IPTV. I have no marketing budget and no talent whatsoever for social media, so the only plan I have is to build the best possible app and hope people tell each other.
North IPTV ships with zero content. It is a player. You bring the subscription you already have.
So — what does your current IPTV player do that drives you mad? That list is literally where this app came from. AMA!
