Most trip planners assume you've already done the research. Nomad's Compass is for people who haven't. Pick a city, set your days and budget, and it builds out every day for you: the stops, the metro line to take, which station to board at, the fare in local currency, how far to walk. Save the plan, send it to your group. 10 cities live, free, open source.
Hi everyone, I am Pratyusha Trivedi, the builder behind Nomad's Compass.
If you look at how people actually plan international trips, the bottleneck is not finding things to do. You can Google "best things to do in Rome" and get a hundred lists. The real problem is what happens after that. How do you turn a list of places into an actual day plan? How do you get from the Colosseum to Trastevere? What line, what stop, how much does it cost, and does all of that fit in a day's budget you are comfortable with?
Right now, the answer is that you spend two or three days bouncing between five apps. Google Maps handles navigation but not planning. Wanderlog organises your research but does not help you start. TripAdvisor shows you everything but sequences nothing. None of them covers the leg between the stops.
I built Nomad's Compass for the traveller who wants to move through a city the way locals do, on public transport, with real line names, real stops, real fares, inside a structured day plan with budget totals in the currency you will actually spend.
10 cities are live. It is free and open source.
What I want to know from you: are the transport legs accurate for your city, does the day structure feel usable, and where does the editing flow break down? That feedback will shape the next version.
