I built Nib because opening Postman to send one GET request had turned into a login screen and 350 MB of Chromium. I wanted the 20% of an API client I actually use, native, and small enough that launching it isn't a decision.
It's about 3.2 MB on disk and around 30 MB of memory. Swift, AppKit and SwiftUI, zero third-party dependencies. Postman 12.22.3 is 353 MB installed for comparison — 213 MB of that is the copy of Chromium it carries around. Both numbers measured on my machine, not looked up.
The part I care most about: your requests are plain JSON files in a folder you choose, one file per request, with bodies in their own sibling files so a diff is readable instead of one escaped line. Rename a file in Finder and it renames in the app. Response history and cookies go to Application Support, never into your repo.
Drag in a Postman export, a collection, an environment, or a whole "Export Data" zip, and your workspace comes across. Nib doesn't run scripts, so rather than dropping them it keeps pre-request scripts, tests and OAuth config in your files untouched and tells you exactly which requests were affected. Scripts might happen eventually. An account won't.
Two honest caveats: it's signed but not notarized, so the Homebrew cask clears the quarantine flag for you (notarization is $99/yr and will happen if the project earns it). And macOS 26 only for now.
