We built Nextretro to make sprint retros fast and fun. But we kept noticing the same pattern: the insights from retros live in one tool, while the actual work happens in chat, Jira, and docs - and action items quietly die in between.
So we built the Nextretro MCP server. Connect it to Claude (or any MCP-compatible agent) and you can:
• Create a retro board from a prompt -> straight from meeting notes
• Add cards and pull summaries without opening a browser
• Track action items with assignees and due dates, and check them off from chat
• Push retro outcomes to Confluence automatically
Retros stop being a ceremony you archive and start being data your AI assistant actually acts on.

One thing that would make this even better is letting people anonymously upvote or react to other people's notes during the retro. Sometimes folks have a related point but don't want to repeat it, and a simple 👍 on existing cards would surface patterns faster without needing to type anything out.
One thing I'd love is the ability to export the retro board to a PDF or markdown summary once it's wrapped up, so I can share it in our team channel and keep a record without manually copying everything over.
Shared a board with my team and seeing everyone's notes pop in live during our retro was honestly the highlight of my week. The MCP update looks slick too.
The live updates are really slick. One thing that would make it more useful for our team is a way to group or merge similar cards after the retro, so we don't end up with ten near-identical "communication" notes. Would love a simple clustering step before we export the action items.
