Hey everyone! Matt Minor here from Directus. I'm excited to share NextPress with you all today. Talking with devs who work extensively with WordPress and other modern web tech, we've seen firsthand the challenges and frustrations many are facing with traditional CMS platforms. The recent drama has only amplified the need for more flexible, developer-friendly alternatives. That's why we worked with Colby Fayock to build NextPress. It combines the power of Next.js for lightning-fast performance with the flexibility of Directus as a headless CMS. Here's what makes it special: - Easy setup: Get a blog running in minutes - Full customization: Extend and modify to fit your needs - Modern stack: Leverage the latest web technologies - Open-source: Free to use and contribute to Whether you're looking to move away from WordPress or just want a fresh start with a modern stack, NextPress gives you the tools to build beautiful, performant blogs without sacrificing ease of use. We're here to answer any questions and would love to hear your feedback!

And if in the future, if someone builds a PaaS - NextEngine, you wont ask for 8%. Right? Kidding 😉️

Finally, a blog starter that gets me. Next.js + Directus = ❤️‍🔥. So easy to use and customize.

If you're going to be inspired by wordpress, are you planning on having your CEO have a twitter meltdown too? 💪 This looks nice! I'd also not heard of Directus before, will take a closer look at that also.

This looks awesome! Would you say this is something a basic developer could implement or would one require an experienced software developer? Congratulations on your launch!

With all the stuff going on currently with Wordpress this seems to have absolutely perfect timing! Congrats on the launch!🚀

Having an open source alternative to challenge incumbents is always great to make sure these companies really provide value add for their work rather than rely on outdated business models. Thanks guys for taking the time to build this!

If you're looking for a WordPress alternative, you want something flexible, reliable, and importantly Open Source. I've found Directus to be easy to set up, with a powerful content API that makes it possible to customize your platform to your needs, without a mess of plugins to get there. Coupled with Next.js, which gives you a state-of-the-art frontend layer, makes for a powerful combo to build great experiences for the web. Thanks @matt_minor for hunting this! This was a fun project to build.

The combination of Next.js and Directus is really powerful. being able to fully customize my blog without performance issue is a huge plus.

The most reliable replacement for Wordpress. Appreciate the incentive of creating almost 1 hour long tutorial. 🙂

Congrats on the launch of NextPress! The combination of Next.js and Directus sounds like a powerful solution for developers looking for a flexible alternative to WordPress.
