Next Tab
Right-click URLs: select text, open in your logs, APIs
Next Tab turns text selection into action. Select text on any page, right-click, and open any URL with that text injected — search engines, log viewers, API tools, admin panels, dashboards, or anything with a URL. Add any URL with %s as the selected text placeholder. Organise links into groups, define global variables, export/import your full config as JSON, import configs from other context menu search extensions.
Hello Everyone! 👋
Quick story: my job has me bouncing between internal tools all day — paste a user ID into the admin panel, then into the log viewer, then into the dashboard, then into the feature-flag UI. I kept thinking, "Why isn't there a right-click for this?"
So I built Next Tab.
Select any text on any page, right-click, and open it in a URL you've configured. That's it. But a few things make it actually useful:
• Any URL works, not just search engines — logs, dashboards, admin tools, internal APIs, whatever
• Organize links into submenus (QA, Prod, Staging — whatever makes sense)
• Global variables like {{QA_HOST}} so you can swap environments without editing every URL
• Export your config as JSON and share it with your team — onboarding new engineers becomes "import this file"
• Syncs across your Chrome instances, free, no accounts, no tracking, no servers
Built it for myself first, then realized everyone on my team wanted it. And the existing options are not good enough.
Would love your feedback — especially on the JSON config format and whether the variable syntax feels natural. Happy to answer any questions!
