I’m the creator of Nexmy. To be completely honest, I don't consider myself a traditional developer. I am a solopreneur who built this entire application by collaborating closely with AI tools. I had a clear goal: creating the personal finance tracker I always wanted but could never find.
Most finance apps today force you to create an account, link your bank, or upload your private financial life to the cloud. I wanted the exact opposite: absolute privacy.

Right now, Nexmy is completely free with all features unlocked to celebrate our global launch. In the future, to support independent development, I plan to introduce a premium subscription tier but the core offline tracking will always remain yours.

Love the privacy-first angle here, especially Smarty running fully local. One thing that would make it stick for me: a manual debt payoff strategy simulator where I can pick avalanche vs snowball and see the payoff date plus total interest saved side by side. Would round out the BNPL tracking really well.
Ran it on my laptop and everything stayed local, which is exactly what I needed after getting burned by a cloud app last year. Smarty handled my split-spend questions faster than I expected for something running offline.
Since everything runs offline, adding an optional end-to-end encrypted sync between two devices would let couples or roommates share budgets without ever touching a cloud server.
Finally gave the local AI assistant a spin and it handled my interest simulations without needing an internet connection. Really appreciate the no-account setup and the PDF export is clean.
The local AI piece sold me. Love that I can run a BNPL simulator and chat with Smarty without any of my spending data ever leaving my laptop. The PDF export is a nice touch too.
