Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Anna, and together with Dmitrii Bodakov, we built NewLexi.
When we were looking for a language-learning app that worked the way we wanted, we couldn't find the right fit. Some apps had outdated interfaces, while others focused on courses and predefined lessons rather than the words we actually wanted to learn.
We wanted something simpler and more flexible: an easy way to learn your own vocabulary, with spaced repetition to help you remember it over time. So we decided to build it ourselves.
Here's what we came up with:
- Your words, from anywhere: a photo of a textbook page, any text or file, the translator, your Anki decks or Quizlet sets, or a set AI generates on any topic.
- Spaced repetition: words come back at the right time to help you remember them.
- AI stories and dialogues: generated from your words at your level, from A1 to C2, so you encounter each word in real sentences. You can read and listen to them.
- Grammar and writing practice: grammar lessons, an AI writing trainer with feedback, and light game mechanics - streaks, a weekly trail, and mini-games - without punishing you for mistakes.
- 12 languages: core features are free, and there are no ads.
For tutors, there's one more thing: you can create a word set for a lesson and share it with students via a link, so they can learn for free.
It's iPhone-only for now.
