Is this to build chat support with n8n?
and can we take over the chat ?

Does the widget keep the conversation history if a visitor reloads the page or comes back the next day? Also wondering how streaming behaves when the n8n workflow takes a while to respond.

Love the interactive builder and how easy it is to set up for those less technical. Is there any way you could populate it with some session context, ie the logged in user?

Agency clients always want the chat widget to look like their brand and not like n8n, so live preview plus voice and file uploads in a no-code builder is exactly the gap this fills for me.

Ross and I took this over in August. Today is the first time we've put it in front of a big crowd, so we want to hear what you think more than anything.

The part we're most curious about is the widget making the first move. Most chat widgets sit in the corner and wait. Ours can start the conversation: a few lines of JavaScript let it open with a question at the right moment. Our favourite example is someone who's been on the checkout page for two minutes. The widget asks "Any questions about shipping or returns?" and sends your n8n agent the context: which page they're on, how long they've been there, what's in their cart.

The tools behind that:
→ sendMessage() starts a chat from a button, a form, a URL parameter or an idle timer
→ updatePrompts() changes the suggested questions for each page
→ updateTheme() restyles the widget without losing the conversation
→ metadata and beforeSubmit send context to your workflow with every message

What we'd love to know:

1. What would you want the widget to react to? Exit intent, cart value, time on page, something else?

2. What's missing or awkward compared with what you use now?

3. Has anything put you off adding a chat widget to an n8n workflow before?

Good to see there is a WordPress plugin as I plan to build my personal website on WordPress soon.

@n8n builder community creates powerful automations, but giving visitors a polished, on-brand chat experience has traditionally taken extra frontend work. This seemingly turns those workflows into a clean, production-ready chat interface in minutes. Love it!!

Read in your pinned maker comment about the file uploads. Are file types & upload sizes configurable per widget?

The LTDs are the way to go in the AI age. Question, is the lifetime license separate from any usage costs associated with n8n itself??

Ross, good launch. What does the analytics look like... does it primarily focus on track conversations through to lead conversions, or widget usage and message counts?

I see there are two modes popup and embedded. Do we just switch between them or rebuild the widget?

Charging clients per message straight from the analytics panel is great, and something most widget tools totally ignore.

Is the n8n community node going to replace webhooks completely for most setups, or is it more for beginners? Good luck today!

This is something n8n probably should've had already. Nobody wants to spend hours messing with CSS just to make a chat widget look right. Nice work on this!
