Hi everyone 👋
I built Munora because every finance app I tried made the same three assumptions: I'd pay every month, I'd hand my bank logins to their servers, and each person in the house would have their own separate account. My money and my family's money never rolled up into one picture, and I wasn't comfortable putting our whole financial life in a cloud I don't control.
So Munora is local-first. Your data sits in a plain file on your own device. No sign-up, and nothing leaves your machine unless you ask it to (import a statement, fetch a fund price, use your own LLM API key). It treats a household as one thing: everyone's accounts, investments, loans and property roll up into a single net worth, while each person still keeps their own.
It kept growing into the app I actually wanted. Statement import from PDF and email with on-device OCR. Investments beyond mutual funds, across the US, UK and other regions. Property valuation with real appreciation and yield. Goal and FIRE planning that adjusts for inflation. Multi-currency with live rates.
It's early. This is v0.1.0. Windows and Android are on the release page, iOS builds from source for now. I'd genuinely like your feedback, especially on what's missing for how your household tracks money.
