I’m launching MumoStream, a self-hosted video and music streaming app for people who want to keep their media on their own server.
The idea is simple:
your server, your files, your rules.
MumoStream Server runs on Linux and Windows, and the iOS / iPadOS app lets you stream your own videos and music from your home server. You can browse your existing folders, stream MP4 directly, and automatically convert MKV, HEVC, VP9, and other formats to HLS when needed.
I built MumoStream as a simpler alternative for people who have used or considered tools like Air Video HD, Jellyfin, Plex, or Emby, but want something more focused on folder-based browsing, easy setup, and personal media streaming without unnecessary complexity.

folder-based browsing feels so natural on this, way less clicking around than Plex. MKV to HLS conversion worked smoothly on my home server without any fiddling.
Finally something my old NAS can actually handle without choking. Folder browsing is exactly the workflow I missed after leaving Plex behind, and the MKV to HLS conversion just works on my Pi.
