So, I wanted a calorie tracker that allowed me to see my cumulative calories, so if I’m under a few days, the remaining calories collect for future days or so I can plan for a naughty weekend. Or if I have a major binge, I can see how strict I need to be to counteract the major feasting. I started with a spreadsheet and it really helped but the user experience was lacking and I am a website/app designer by trade, not much of a developer though, so it’s fairly basic but it works. AND you can add it to your homescreen and it will work like an app (offline accessibile too) 👍🏼
It’s called MT31 - MT stands for My Tracker and it’s also sounds like ‘empty’. And I am 31, which coincidentally when I turned ‘MT’ on its side, there’s kinda the number 31. It was just for me so I didn’t care too much about the name.
It’s completely free, no ads, no account creation, it’s not a business, I’ve just had some good feedback from friends and family. I host it for pennies and I will update it because I can’t leave things alone and love to tinker. So if you use it, there’ll be some updates, anything that I find more useful or if I get any feedback/good ideas (welcome from all btw). And this way you know it won’t just disappear on you because it didn’t turn a profit or get enough users etc.
Features:
☆ Cumulative Calorie Logic: Gives you a better representation of what you have left (or what you don’t).
☆ Accessible Offline: Add to your Home Screen whilst connected to the internet, you will not need the internet to continue using it thereafter.
☆ Calorie Calculator: It comes with a free calorie calculator to help you set a daily calorie target (uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation).
☆ Weekday Aware: The current day of the week is highlighted and days that have passed will show a greyed out ‘Calories left’ total, so you can better focus on your daily habits.
☆ Reset: With a tap of a button, you can now reset all your daily calorie inputs anytime you like.
☆ Local Data Storage: All data is saved to your browser/device, we do not store your data, its yours.
So, yeah, comments, critique, love & admiration and questions are all welcome.
Thanks for reading and hope it helps someone as much as it’s helped me ✌🏼
Nice! Congrats on your launch. It's surprising that the big calorie tracking apps (MFP, Lose It) have never solved the problem of cumulative calories...I've been calorie tracking for years now and have always thought of it on a weekly basis rather than daily.
Is it only a webapp, or is there an IOS/Android version? Because the "Get the App" on your website does nothing, and I can't find it on the app store.
Congratulations on the launch of MT31! 🎉 Your innovative approach to calorie tracking with cumulative logic and offline accessibility is fantastic. Looking forward to seeing how it helps others achieve their fitness goals! 🚀👏🏼
Any plans to add weekly or monthly goals? Thanks for keeping it free and ad-free. Excited to see updates!!
You have to be very healthy (I mean a sport-oriented person) per your maker's history. 😁 I like your approach reflected to products. 🥹
