We’re Kippis Studios, a small team focused on thoughtful software and user experience.
We built Mountain ID because we kept asking the same question on hikes and road trips: "What mountain is that?"
We wanted an answer that felt immediate—right on the landscape we were already looking at.
How it works:
- Uses your location and compass to determine which peaks you're facing
- Places AR labels directly on the landscape
- Shows distance and elevation when you want more detail
How to try it:
1. Download on iPhone (link above)
2. Head somewhere with a clear view of hills or mountains
3. Allow location and camera access
4. Point at the horizon and give GPS/compass a moment to settle
It's designed for real-world use outdoors, whether that's a trailhead, scenic overlook, or roadside viewpoint.
