Hi Product Hunt, I'm Markus, a designer and developer from Bielefeld, Germany. morements is the journal I wanted on my own phone.
In 2018 I wrote a page a day by hand, for a whole year. That kind of journaling needs a desk and ten quiet minutes. Most of what I want to remember doesn't happen there. It happens on a platform, on a park bench, between two meetings, and by the evening it's gone.
So morements is built around the smallest possible entry:
- It opens straight into the text field. No home screen, no "New entry" button.
- A line or two, a photo, a short video or a voice note. Voice notes are transcribed on the device; the recording stays.
- One tap on one of four moods. Four, because a middle would always be the easy answer.
- Time, time zone and place attach themselves.
- "Flood" is a second feed for thoughts that aren't memories: text only, collected week by week.
What it leaves out on purpose: accounts, servers, analytics, streaks, badges, prompts and subscriptions. Your entries live on your device and, if you want, in your own iCloud. You can export everything as documented JSON, or have each new entry posted to a webhook you own.

I'd like to know where it falls short for you: what you'd want to capture that it doesn't let you, and whether four moods without a middle works for you or gets in your way. I'm here all day.
