Shift Robotics just dropped Moonwalkers Dusk, and it's the closest thing I've seen to wearing a bit of the future on your feet.
They're motorized shoes that strap over your own sneakers and speed up your walk. Dusk is the lightest pair they've made, nearly 40% lighter and 15% smaller than the first generation, and it finally comes in three sizes so the fit isn't one-size-fits-nobody.
The details that stuck with me:
A line of light wraps the whole shoe and glows on the ground when you walk at night. It also changes color to show what the shoes are doing (green when it's moving you, pink for indoor mode, red when something needs attention).
SENSA, the software behind it, reads your stride and adjusts for gravel, grass and even shallow puddles. It also picks up when you go from a walk to a run.
Straps and wheel hubs swap without tools, so you can change the look, and new wheels go on in about five minutes with Allen keys.
It charges over USB-C, so a power bank in your bag works. A padded sling comes in the box for the stretches where the wheels can't go.
It's $1,199 and the first batch is 200 pairs, shipping from October 12.
Curious what the community thinks: would you wear these on your daily commute, or are they more of a weekend toy?

Moonwalkers Dusk was hunted by Jayant Arora. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
