Monotask holds exactly one active task. Everything else goes to a Later backlog you open on purpose, and a parked task can only start once the active slot is empty. Free. No ads. No account. Works offline.

I built Monotask because every to-do app I tried was a filing cabinet I felt guilty about. Forty items, six projects, and no idea what to do next. So this one holds exactly one active task. It fills the whole screen. If you try to start a second one, the app says no — you either finish the current task or deliberately move it to Later. Later is a separate tab you open on purpose, not a list stacking up in front of you. There are no tags, no projects, no due dates, and no streaks. If something is time-bound it belongs in your calendar, not here. Nothing leaves your phone: no account, no cloud, no analytics, and the app never requests internet access. The one thing I keep going back and forth on: the backlog. Should Later be unlimited, or does a cap make you actually deal with what is in there? I have argued myself into both. Curious which side you land on.

Who hunted Monotask?

Monotask was hunted by Muhammad Ijaz. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
