MoniVol
Fix macOS volume control for HDMI and DisplayPort displays
Hi PH 👋 I built MoniVol after getting tired of macOS disabling the volume keys whenever I used audio through my external display.I tried more powerful audio tools, but I really only wanted one thing: **make the normal Mac volume controls work again**.MoniVol is a free, lightweight menu bar app that adds software volume control for HDMI and DisplayPort displays. It supports the volume/mute keys, automatically handles display disconnects and reconnects, and leaves normal audio devices on their native macOS path.No EQ, no per-app mixer, no audio effects — just volume control.Homebrew:brew install --cask Geliv/tap/monivolI’d especially love to hear which monitors it works with, so I can improve device compatibility.
