Sets an Android phone to any point on the map, or moves it along a real road route at whatever speed you pick. Tap the map for a fixed position and every app that asks gets that spot. Or set a start and an end, and the phone follows the roads instead of cutting a straight line across them. GPX import and export, so a route recorded on a real trip can be replayed at your desk. Android makes you pick the app under Select mock location app in Developer options first.

Maker here. The part I'd point at is that routes follow actual roads rather than interpolating a straight line between two points. Straight-line movement is easy to spot if anything on the other end is doing map matching. GPX import and export are in there too, so a route recorded on a real trip can be replayed later, or handed to someone else. One thing worth saying up front: Android won't let any app do this until you select it under Select mock location app in Developer options. That's a platform rule, not a design choice. The app walks you through it on first run. Free, ad supported, no account.

Who hunted Mock Location?

Mock Location was hunted by Muhammad Azhar. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
