Mochi Genie
A tiny hero for your Mac that takes breaks with you
Mochi is a tiny flying genie that lives on your Mac desktop. He gets you to drink water, stretch and rest your eyes, then does the break with you. Waits during calls and fullscreen. 0.12% CPU, no account. Free for 7 days, then $12.99 once.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Praveen, and this is Mochi, a tiny hero for your Mac.
I kept ignoring every reminder app I installed. A notification that says "drink water" is easy to swipe away. A small genie holding up a glass of water, waiting for you to drink with him, is not. So I built one.
What Mochi does:
💧 Water, stretch, eye-rest, posture and walk reminders, plus your own. He acts out each break with you, then gets out of the way.
⏱ Gentle time awareness, only for the apps you choose ("45 minutes in Safari. Still what you came here for?"). Never websites, tabs or what you watch.
🤫 He steps aside during calls (mic or camera on), presentations and fullscreen, and his window never steals your clicks.
🎨 Seven capes, little moments (yawns, a sneeze, the odd twirl), short hellos above his head and a tornado entrance.
It's a native Mac app (Swift, Core Animation) that averages 0.12% CPU on a MacBook Air. There's no account, it works offline, and nothing about what you do leaves your Mac.
Try everything free for 7 days, no card. If you'd like to keep him, it's $12.99 once, yours for life, with no subscription and a 14-day money-back guarantee.
I'd love to hear what you think, especially which reminder you'd add next and which cape you picked. 🧞
