MisterPilot is an OpenAI-compatible API gateway that lets you pay with UPI instead of a credit card. No forex fees, no $5 minimums β recharge starting at βΉ50. Swap your base URL and keep your existing code; it just works. Built-in PII redaction scrubs sensitive data before it hits any model. Solo-built by a Java backend dev who got tired of needing a foreign card just to test an idea. Built in public β feedback welcome. π
Hey Product Hunt! π
I'm a Java backend dev, and I built MisterPilot because of a problem every Indian developer building with LLMs runs into eventually: every AI API assumes you have a US credit card.
Stripe billing, USD pricing, forex markup that turns a $5 top-up into βΉ400+. For a weekend project? For testing an idea before you even know if it's worth pursuing? That's a real tax just to experiment.
So here's what MisterPilot does:
π OpenAI-compatible β if your code calls openai.chat.completions, you swap the base URL and you're done. No SDK migration.
π³ UPI billing, βΉ50 minimum β GPay, PhonePe, Paytm. Recharge like you'd top up anything else.
π‘οΈ PII redaction built in β sensitive data gets scrubbed server-side before it's sent to the underlying model. If you're security-conscious about what leaves your infra, this matters.
Why it works the way it does:
I'm running this on DeepSeek under the hood, which is what makes the βΉ50 minimum economically possible β output costs are a fraction of what they'd be on a US-hosted frontier model. The tradeoff (data passing through DeepSeek's infra) is something I'm upfront about, and the redaction layer exists specifically to reduce what's exposed in that path.
This is solo-built and very much a work in progress. I'd genuinely rather hear "this is broken" or "this is missing X" now than after 100 people have tried it. So please β break it, and tell me what you find. π
Happy to answer anything technical in the comments β Java backend, the gateway architecture, the redaction approach, all of it.
