Hey PH! I'm the solo developer behind Mise. The app started from one specific frustration: I had hundreds of saved posts on Instagram and TikTok — recipes I genuinely wanted to cook — and I never made a single one. The format just doesn't work for actually cooking. You're standing in the kitchen with floury hands trying to scrub to the right moment in a video. So I built a paste-a-link solution. The AI reads the video or page, pulls out the structured recipe, and saves it to your cookbook. From there you can cook through it step by step, add ingredients to a shared shopping list, or translate the whole thing if the source is in another language. It took about 4 months of evenings. SwiftUI on iOS, Python backend on Railway, Firebase, Typesense for search. I launched yesterday and have approximately one user (my mom). Genuinely curious what people think — what's missing, what's confusing, what would make you actually use this. Brutal feedback welcome.

Who hunted Mise?

Mise was hunted by Pavel Ilin. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
