Minota started with a simple observation: people are already using WhatsApp as a kind of personal memory. We send ourselves ideas, screenshots, photos, links, voice notes, reminders, addresses, even important information. It works — until it doesn’t. Then we end up scrolling through hundreds of messages trying to find the one thing we knew we had saved somewhere. I wanted to solve that without asking people to change the way they already work. So instead of building another productivity app with another workflow to learn, we built Minota around a simple idea: just send it to Minota. You can talk to it naturally through WhatsApp, and Minota can remember, organize and find what you’ve saved. The web app gives you a more structured view when you need it — including notes, reminders, calendar, personal finance and private information. The biggest challenge was actually deciding what not to build. We started with many ideas around productivity, but kept coming back to the same question: “Would this make someone's everyday life simpler?” That became the principle behind Minota. No new workflow. No complicated system. Just a place to put the things you don't want to lose. We're launching Minota today and I'd genuinely love to hear from you: What do you currently send to yourself on WhatsApp? Ideas? Screenshots? Reminders? Random things you know you'll need later? That's exactly the behavior we're trying to understand and improve. 🚀

Super excited to announce Minota's official launch today.

To be completely honest, I built Minota out of sheer personal need. As an independent product designer, I got burnt out juggling separate apps for notes, tasks, finances, and sensitive data, while still constantly messaging myself random links and screenshots on WhatsApp.

Minota started from that exact observation: people are already using WhatsApp as a kind of personal memory. We send ourselves ideas, screenshots, photos, links, voice notes, reminders, and important information. It works — until it doesn’t. Then we end up scrolling through hundreds of messages trying to find that one thing we knew we saved somewhere.

I wanted to solve that without asking people to change the way they already work.

So instead of building another rigid productivity app with a complex workflow to learn, we built Minota around a simple idea: just send it to Minota.

You can talk to it naturally through WhatsApp, and Minota remembers, organizes, and finds what you’ve saved. The web app gives you a clean, structured view when you need it — handling notes, tasks, calendar, personal finance, and a secure private vault.

The biggest challenge was actually deciding what not to build. We started with dozens of productivity features, but kept coming back to one question: Would this make someone's everyday life simpler? That became our guiding principle.

No new workflow. No complicated system. Just a place to put the things you don't want to lose.

We're live today, and I would genuinely love to hear from you: What do you currently send to yourself on WhatsApp? Ideas? Screenshots? Reminders? Random things you'll need later?

That behavior is exactly what we're trying to understand and improve. I'd love your feedback, questions, and support! 🚀

Minota was hunted by Martin Vega. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
