Imagine saving 80 hours/month. That’s nearly $3,000 you’d normally get for work instead of mindlessly scrolling. minimalist phone brings a true digital detox to iOS with a clean, blank-screen design. Block addictive apps, remove colourful icons, and get kicked out of your phone when time is up. Reclaim focus, improve well-being, and spend more time offline with people you love. The app is also for people with ADHD.
After a short break, things are moving again, and I’m back to hunting the app I’ve been collaborating on for 4 years.
Digital detox & productivity app minimalist phone arrives on iOS!
… and offers many benefits:
• It removes colourful elements that normally cause distraction.
• It increases focus and reduces time spent on your smartphone.
• It’s suitable for people with attention disorders, including ADHD.
We already raised money on Kickstarter, and now it’s time to get a proper roast from the tech community.
Here we go!
Useful app. I usually just turn off the internet on my phone and notifications don’t come through 🙂
This is great! For me, I just spend far too long on an app that I rediscovered I downloaded months ago. Does it suggest which apps are eating up my time the most and should block?
This concept really hits the pain point—using tech to fight distractions rather than create more. That’s pretty geeky. Features like notification filtering, app blocking, and anti-addiction reminders are exactly what I need when coding. Would be even better if it could sync with Pomodoro timers or system focus modes. Bookmarked—will try it next time I need deep focus. Simple and effective tools are the real deal.
Heyyy @busmark_w_nika congratulations!! This looks really great ! We all need something like this to help us to increase focus better & block apps on while working. I wish they also block spam calls
Loved the app—super clean and thoughtful experience so far.
Quick question: on iOS 26, I’m seeing thin white lines along the top and bottom rounded corners of the widget (almost like a system “liquid”/glassy border effect). Is there a way to remove or override that, or is it enforced by the OS widget rendering?
If there’s a recommended workaround (or an iOS setting / widget config), I’d really appreciate it—thanks!
@busmark_w_nika I’ll defo try this out - my current screen time is astonishing. I’m almost ashamed to share it publicly. As a marketer, I adore how you guys infuse minimalism into your brand and comms. Kudos!
This is not an app I will be using as I never felt "addicted" to my phone or spending too much time with it. But I understand this may be very helpful to a lot of people.
It certainly looks nice, but I think some people would prefer a lighter or more colorful theme. Are there such options?
Wish you success!!
Love it! I am downloading it, I am getting way too distracted during the day ( mostly from @busmark_w_nika hilarious LinkedIn post )
On iOS, people can always fall back to the default home screen and Screen Time can be bypassed—what’s your strategy for creating a “default” calmer experience that users don’t abandon after the first day, and how do you think about bypass-resistance vs. not making the phone unusable?
Been using it since over a year. The team is so proactive in taking suggestions and implementing it. Love the app and the team
Love the concept here! It often seems like our phones are actively making our lives and society worse. I’m all for apps that want to turn that around and help us to have a better, healthier relationship with our phone.
Congrats on the launch, Nika! Phenomenal! Thanks for the iOS version! We need it!
watching this come together was a good reminder that “simple” is usually the hardest part. a lot of careful design work and iteration behind what you see here.
I know how much work went into the smallest details to get the experience right, specially for the user experience. (+ I had to fix some graphics that @busmark_w_nika made 😊)
the end result feels effortless, which says a lot about the process behind it. Definitely worth checking out!
happy launch day! 🚀🚀
I would love to see some stats on how much screen time reduction users experience after a week or two.
Big upvote
Even though I am an android user and can't try out the app, I think Nika, @busmark_w_nika you're my favorite PH user, so I'll support you all the way!
Congrats on the launch! Love the story behind the idea 💫
