I built this after watching how much unpaid work sits on the
back end of a Minecraft skin commission. Drawing the character
takes about an hour and that's the part the buyer pays for.
Then comes another hour nobody pays for: Bedrock won't read a
bare PNG, so the skin has to be zipped with a manifest, a
skins.json, a language file, and a geometry string that
matches the arm width — pick the wrong one and the arms sit a
pixel off and the buyer thinks it's broken. Then you load the
game, pose the character, crop four angles and stitch them
together.
The generator took three failed attempts to get right. Giving
the model a wireframe to draw into made the art collapse into
flat colour on blocks — a picture to conform to is a picture
it stops inventing around. Free-form "make this a Minecraft
skin" produced genuinely nice art, but as a decorative poster
whose layout changed every run, so nothing could be sliced out
reliably. Front-and-back views were sliceable, but the sides
and the second layer were guesses.
What worked was naming each cell of a 3x3 grid in the prompt.
The drawing stays free, every panel lands at a known fraction
of the image, and the head's outer hair gets its own panel —
the second layer every earlier attempt left empty.

are free and run entirely in your browser, no account. New
