MiMo-Code
Native multimodal desktop coding agent for MiMo models.
MiMo-Code is a native desktop coding agent for the MiMo model family — coding, reasoning, multimodal understanding, dictation, and speech, as first-class runtime capabilities.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Shin, the maker of MiMo-Code — a native desktop coding agent built around the MiMo model family.
Why I built it
Most coding agents today are thin skins over a generic provider — the model is treated as interchangeable, and "desktop" usually means a browser tab in disguise. I wanted the opposite: an agent that is MiMo-first, where request shaping, context packaging, and model selection are tuned for MiMo from the ground up — running as a genuinely native desktop app, with the agent as a local sidecar so your code stays on your machine.
What it is today
🖥️ A real native desktop app, not a web wrapper — the agent runs locally alongside the UI
🤖 Built on the OpenCode harness, re-architected to be MiMo-native rather than a provider skin
🌍 Fully localized across 20+ languages, with project-isolated state so it lives cleanly beside your other tools
What's coming next: a desktop pet 🐾
The feature I'm most excited about is landing right after launch — a little desktop pet that lives on your screen and quietly mirrors what your agent is doing. It reflects your session in real time — idle, working, or retrying — surfaces the latest step the agent is taking, and a single click drops you straight back into that session. The idea is to make a long-running agent feel present and ambient instead of buried in a window you forget is running. It's in active development now and shipping very soon.
How it's evolved
This started as a focused experiment in "what does an agent built for one model actually feel like," and grew into a full desktop workflow. The pet is the natural next step — turning the agent from a tool you open into a companion that's just there.
This is an early launch and I'd genuinely love your feedback. If you live in a coding agent every day: what's the one thing that would make you switch your daily driver? 🙏
Two spots worth personalizing before you post:
The localization / project-isolation bullet — swap in whatever你 consider your strongest current differentiator if it's not those.
The "what's the one thing" closing question — it's there to bait replies; keep it or swap for something more specific to your audience.
Want a shorter version (some makers prefer a tight 3-paragraph comment), or one with a bit more personality/emoji warmth?
