Milepost began on Highway 1. During a stressful summer running my startup, weekend drives gave me room to breathe. I wanted to hold on to more than the route: the quiet moments, the places along the way, and the people I met. So I built a driving journal to give those memories a home.
Here’s what you can do with it: • Keep a drive’s route, photos, notes, music, and marked moments together in a Roadbook. • Build your garage and collect city and state stamps in each car’s Stampbook. • See friends’ drives, react, and leave a comment. • Turn a Roadbook or monthly recap into a video or image with six sharing styles, from a printed receipt to a magazine cover. • Share a Roadbook link with someone who doesn’t have the app.
Record on iPhone or iPad, keep drive controls on Apple Watch, and view and edit your Roadbooks on Mac. CarPlay, Siri, widgets, and Shortcuts fit recording into everyday life. You can also connect Milepost to ChatGPT and other compatible AI agents. Milepost is free to download, with optional Pro features.

I’ve put a lot of care into making the things you keep feel as personal as the drive itself. I’d love to hear what you think. What’s a drive you still remember, and what would you want to save from it?
Nice that the Mac app is for viewing and editing Roadbooks, not just a phone companion. Can I add photos from my Mac's library to a past drive there, or only from the iPhone? Congrats on the launch!
the Highway 1 origin story tracks, most of the good driving-log apps I've tried started from someone wanting to hold on to a specific trip, not from a spreadsheet problem. the MCP server is the part I didn't expect on a journal app though, what's the question people actually ask an agent against their own Roadbooks? I'm guessing something like "how many miles did I drive for work this quarter" for mileage deduction purposes, but curious if that's the real use case or if people are asking it stranger things like "find every drive where I stopped near the coast."
Interesting idea. Do the trips stay private between you and your friends when sharing them? And does the app work in the apple car play system or only through the phone?
a late drive down the coast after a launch, honestly just want to keep the playlist from that night more than any photo
The stampbook per car is a lovely idea, it turns a log into something you want to fill. Does route recording run in the background all day, and what does that cost in battery on a long drive? That's usually what makes me uninstall trip trackers.
So, Does the phone become an MCP server ? How it works on iOS when the app is in waiting mode ??
does it start recording on its own when I connect to carplay? I'd 100% forget to hit record otherwise
The 3D route playback and monthly recaps sound fun. It would be cool to look back on all the places visited over time.
Sai, keeping the music and little moments alongside a route makes a Roadbook feel much more personal. Enjoyed the Highway 1 story in your launch note. Congrats!

Milepost was hunted by Sai Kambampati. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
